With a length of about 8 m, Triceratops was one of the largest of the horned dinosaurs. Triceratops belonged to the Ceratopsia group and was a plant-eating dinosaur that probably moved through what is now North America in herds towards the end of the Cretaceous period - around 68 - 65 million years ago.
