This little sculpture accurately depicts the Coelacanth with its fleshy-lobed fins that are evidence of this fish's ancient lineage. First identified in 1938 in South Africa, this strange looking fish was found to be a member of a group that was thought to have gone extinct 65 million years ago (at the same time the dinosaurs disappeared). This coelacanth keychain is painstakingly hand carved and cast in pewter. Sure to make a great gift for the biologist or cryptozoologist in your life.
Also works great as a zipper pull, so you can dress up your jacket, backpack, or purse.
Dimensions of the Coelacanth Keychain:
5.2 cm long
2.2 cm tall
Made in the USA for lead-free genuine Pewter.
This is no cheap mass-produced item, but an unusual and beautiful piece of hardware sure to last.
